Hello my little gnats!! Or is it maggots...? Whichever squirmy creature it is, greetings all the same!!! This is a wonderful book written by Gerald Morris. It is only one of a series, but the lovely thing about his books is that each one is its own story and not just a follow-up of another. This book is set in the times of King Arthur and the main character is a young man named Terence who is a squire to the knight, Sir Gawain. One day at a feast in the castle, a green giant rides in with a challenge for the knights of the Round Table. Gawain takes up the challenge and sets off on the quest with his squire in tow. Along the way, they pick up the spunky Lady Eileen, and her and Terence soon fall in love. They travel to the Otherworld, where they find out who Terence really is, and encounter many challenges and strange creatures along the way. It is well written, and has an enjoyable mixture of light humor and dark wit. Look this book up at the nearest library, and be sure to check out his other books as well, especially the book, The Savage Damsel. That is the first book that I read of this series and it is still my favorite. Now I am off to my dazzling dreams and fantastic worlds!!! Farewell my slimy newts!!
